  • Worked on a multi-year funded project which was proposed and won from the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission of Thailand, in the area of video analytics for elderly people living at home. The idea was to develop embedded systems and a cloud computation framework to enable monitoring of the activities of at-risk elderly people living at home, including risk of falling. Took the lead in many aspects of the project, including coordinating data collection at the Faculty of Physical Therapy at Mahidol University in Thailand, ensuring the major research deliverables were completed, developing software, working with Masters’ students on some of the deliverables, and writing reports on the machine learning models, system development, and experiments necessary to complete the project. The work initiated an excellent collaboration between AIT’s ICT Department and Mahidol University’s Physical Therapy Faculty and it also led to publications in NBTC’s national research journal and Springer’s Multimedia Tools and Applications journal.
